Researcher Onboarding
The Brief
Atlassian, Australia’s premier software company, were keen to improve the onboarding and re-boarding experience for their researchers.
The Approach
Our aim was to understand the current state experience for onboarding and re-boarding people into the research team at Atlassian and design something better. We did:
Cross-functional stakeholder interviews and interviews with various people in the research team
Research synthesis and design strategy development
Co-design of the future state in line with the design strategy
Development of digital architecture
Concept testing of future state designs to ensure they were fit for purpose
The Outcome
A clear understanding of which employees and areas of the onboarding experience should be the focus moving forward. Where appropriate, a range of solutions were designed to meet current pain points and in other cases, guidelines were provided for what a future state experience should include. The focus was on making deliverables as actionable as possible to meet employee needs now.
The Joy
Being one of Australia’s premiere companies, curiosity was high as to what working there was really like.
