The Brief

Atlassian, Australia’s premier software company, were keen to improve the onboarding and re-boarding experience for their researchers.

The Approach

Our aim was to understand the current state experience for onboarding and re-boarding people into the research team at Atlassian and design something better. We did:

  • Cross-functional stakeholder interviews and interviews with various people in the research team

  • Research synthesis and design strategy development

  • Co-design of the future state in line with the design strategy

  • Development of digital architecture

  • Concept testing of future state designs to ensure they were fit for purpose

The Outcome

A clear understanding of which employees and areas of the onboarding experience should be the focus moving forward. Where appropriate, a range of solutions were designed to meet current pain points and in other cases, guidelines were provided for what a future state experience should include. The focus was on making deliverables as actionable as possible to meet employee needs now.
